To use CBSV you must:

  • Possess an Employer Identification Number (EIN).


  • Submit an enrollment application and pay a non-refundable enrollment fee of $5,000.


  • Sign a model agreement with SSA governing the use of CBSV.


  • Pay a $1.05 transaction fee per SSN verification request. Periodically SSA will recalculate the costs it incurs in providing the CBSV service and will adjust the transaction fee charged. Subscribers will be notified in writing of any change in this fee.


  • Obtain a valid, signed consent from the SSN number holder on Form SSA-89.


  • Secure CBSV User ID(s) and Password (s) for your employees.


  • Provide to SSA the name of an independent Certified Public Accountant (CPA) who will report to SSA on your conformance with the terms of the CBSV agreement.
