Number: 111-3 Senate Finance Committee Reports Out Favorably S. 275, the “Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009”
On January 16, 2009, S. 275, the “Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009,” was reported out of the Senate Finance Committee by a vote of 12 to 7. This bill contains a provision requiring verification of an individual's declaration of citizenship or nationality which is identical to that in H.R. 2 which passed the House on January 14, 2009 (see Legislative Bulletin 111-1) , except that the verification in S. 275 would be effective on January 1, 2010 (rather than October 1, 2009 as is H.R. 2). There are no other provisions of interest to SSA.
