Senate Passes S. 139,
Ensuring Access to Clinical Trials Act of 2015

On July 16, 2015, the Senate passed, by unanimous consent, S. 139, the Ensuring Access to Clinical Trials Act of 2015.  Under current law, the first $2,000 in payments for participation in clinical trials in a calendar year is excluded for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) purposes.  However, this exclusion expires on October 5, 2015.  S. 139 would remove the expiration date.

The bill now moves for consideration by the House.
