Hiring Heroes Career Fair

Karen Weaver, Social Security Administration (SSA) Deputy Area Director; Janet Zableski, SSA Human Resource Specialist in the Philadelphia Regional Office; and Lester Austin, SSA Public Affairs Specialist for Washington, DC, participated in the “Hiring Heroes Career Fair” for service men and women. Over 90 Federal and Private sector recruiters participated in this event which was held at the Karen Wagner Sports Center at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC.

Karen, Janet and Lester spoke with many of the attendees about the various career opportunities available with SSA. The DVD “Make a Difference in People’s Lives and Your Own” designed specifically for Veterans was given to participants that stopped by the SSA exhibit, many of whom left a resume for the agency’s review. As always, those interested in working for SSA were advised to visit our website to complete the application process online for the positions being offered. This fair was an excellent opportunity for SSA to promote careers to former and present military members.
