A. Obtaining Nonmedical Evidence
If the ALJ determines that the claimant and the claimant's representative cannot provide the needed evidence, or that it would be more efficient to contact the source directly, the ALJ, or the HO staff under the ALJ's direction, will contact the source, either by telephone, fax or in writing, and request the needed evidence. Follow the procedure set forth in I-2-5-14.
