Background

This transmittal amends section I-2-3-45 of the Hearings, Appeals and Litigation Law (HALLEX) manual to update instructions for providing Spanish language translations of forms and notices at the hearing level.

Explanation of Content and Changes

HALLEX I-2-3-45 is amended as follows:

I-2-3-45 – We changed the title to “Providing Spanish Language Translations of Forms and Notices” to more accurately reflect the content of the section.

I-2-3-45 A – We made editorial and formatting changes and added a helpful citation to the Program Operations Manual System. We removed an outdated NOTE and incorporated information previously in subsection B.

I-2-3-45 B – We retitled the subsection “Procedures” and made editorial and formatting changes to the language, incorporating updated instruction where needed. We moved information about signature requirements to subsection A.
