Background

This transmittal adds section I-3-7-25 to the Hearings, Appeals and Litigation Law (HALLEX) manual to provide instructions for processing a remand order when an administrative law judge (ALJ) requests that the Appeals Council return jurisdiction of a claim to the ALJ.

Explanation of Content and Changes

I-3-7-25 – We titled the section “Remand at Request of Administrative Law Judge” and provided Appeals Council processing instructions for when an ALJ wants to change his or her action and the Appeals Council has jurisdiction of the claim.
