2603.What is not income?
An item received is not income if it is neither food nor shelter, and it cannot be used to obtain food or shelter.
NOTE: We do not count in-kind support and maintenance (food or shelter) as income when determining eligibility for Medicare Part D Extra Help. That is, we do not count the help you receive from someone else to pay your household expenses, such as, food, mortgage, rent, heating fuel or gas, electricity, water, and property taxes.
