The annotations for Chapter III describe how the Belgian social security system determines entitlement for persons eligible for Belgian benefits under the Agreement.  However, these annotations describe the Belgian social security system’s old-age, survivors and disability benefits program as it existed at the time the Agreement became effective in July 1984.  An updated  SSA description of the Belgian benefits system is available online at
