"The Disability Claim Process", Reading, PAReading, PA

The Social Security Administration presented “The Disability Claim Process”, a half-day seminar for over 80 attorneys and other professionals in Reading, PA at the Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences on September 15. A diverse group of Social Security employees participated to provide expertise on the entire claim process from initial application to the appeals process. Public Affairs Specialists Jim Keeler and Sherra Zavitsanos who spoke about the requirements for eligibility to disability benefits and how to apply for benefits online planned the event. The Reading Social Security Office manager Stan Fromuth was the host of the session and discussed the field office process. Disability Determination Professional Relations Officer Meribeth Demmel and Office of Disability Adjudication and Review supervisor Mike Shetzline presented the initial disability decision process and the hearing process steps. The top of the line technology and acoustics in the facility made using our demonstration video, power point shows and internet demonstration a pleasure for the presenters and the audience. Those attending the session asked many questions and expressed their gratitude for the information.
