Report monthly wages and other income
You must report your monthly wages and changes in income from other sources to get accurate monthly SSI payments. If you live with your spouse, you must also report their income.
Every month:
- Wages from employment
- Child support
- Unemployment benefits
Yearly by January 10:
- Self-employment income
As changes occur:
- Cash from friends or relatives
- Pensions
- Lottery and gambling winnings
- Self-employment income estimates
- Changes in income from all sources
Report wages each month
Report monthly wages by the sixth day of the month after you get paid. If you change jobs, notify your local office so you can keep reporting online.
Report wages each month by app or by phone
You can submit your wages using the SSA Mobile Wage Reporting App, available in the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Report changes in income from self-employment and other sources
Report changes in self-employment and other income by the tenth day of the month after the change. Common changes can include child support, pensions, unemployment benefits, or cash received.
